Minimi is a macOS app that acts as an ambient memory layer for Claude. It quietly captures everything happening on your Mac—open tabs, documents, calls, Slack threads, and more—then feeds that context directly to Claude as live information. Instead of manually briefing Claude before each conversation, Minimi lets Claude already know what you've been doing, reading, and discussing. All processing stays on your device, so your data never leaves your Mac.
Minimi stores your activity history as embeddings in a local vector database on your Mac. Nothing is uploaded to the cloud. The app uses Gemini on a paid plan solely to generate embeddings, and even Gemini never sees your raw data. Your memory stays where it belongs—on your machine.
After downloading the app and signing in, you copy an MCP link and paste it into Claude's custom connector. That's it. From that point on, Minimi runs silently in your tray, continuously building context without any further action from you.
Once connected, Claude can answer questions like "Who sent me the screenshot about the bug?" or "What was I worried about a month ago?" without you having to paste in notes or summaries. Minimi surfaces relevant information from your recent activity, so Claude's responses are grounded in what you actually did.
On the BEAM benchmark (ICLR 2026), Minimi achieved 54% accuracy compared to 36% for the previous state-of-the-art system. This isn't just a convenience feature—it's a measurable leap in long-term memory retrieval.
Minimi gives Claude the full picture of your day without you saying a word.
Most AI memory tools require you to manually log or tag information. Minimi removes that friction entirely. It watches what you do across your Mac—docs, calls, messages, tabs—and feeds that to Claude as live context. No prompting, no extra steps. And because everything stays on-device, you get this seamless memory without compromising privacy. It's the closest thing to Claude actually knowing what you've been up to.
You use Claude regularly and find yourself repeating context, pasting in notes, or wishing it just knew what you were working on. If you're tired of briefing your AI assistant before every meaningful conversation, Minimi turns that overhead into background noise.
